A Jeff Doubet Santa Barbara Home Design and photography page dedicated to Hacienda style home designs in Santa Barbara and Montecito, California.
A beautiful polished copper and brushed nickel silver claw foot tub overlooks the beach near Shoreline drive, Santa Barbara, CA.
Distressed rafter tails, authentic 2 piece Mission tile roof, bronze clad windows and Old World plaster finish were parts of the upgrade.
Authentic sandstone columns and resawn redwood arbor, and stone entry surround at solid iron and glass front doors were also added.
All are design elements that give this home an authentic Spanish Hacienda feel.
BEFORE PHOTO:
The original fixer upper home had good bones.
The windows and doors would be need to be replaced.
The basic wood garage door also had a tract house feel to it, so a new carriage style door was proposed.
The inexpensive plastic bubble skylights in the roof were also removed.

This project started out as an outdated 1980's Santa Barbara home.
I created a concept rendering that included ideas for a new entry tower, 2 piece Mission tile roof, plaster entry door surround, carriage doors and a rustic sandstone capped site wall.
BEFORE PHOTO:
This is an image of the fixer home before any of the new changes were incorporated.
Jeff Doubet, founder of Santa Barbara Home Design enjoys designing a wide variety of local styles.
Here is an example of the transformations possible when taking a Montecito fixer with good bones, and making it into an attractive Spanish Hacienda style home.
My conceptual sketches for property included this Spanish tiled roof garden passage- an inviting way to greet guests and guide them to an inner courtyard.
One of the BEFORE photos I took of the property before for the Hacienda style entry remodel, above.

I specialize in conceptual designs for Spanish-style homes and landscapes.
Floor plans, site plans, elevation sketches, for improving their home and landscape.
In Santa Barbara and Montecito there are smaller homes like this that have a tremendous amount of potential.
For this tired Montecito Spanish fixer, a new paint theme, architectural details and a mediterranean garden design were proposed.
